NINE FRAME ANALYSIS
From Kayleigh's research into Honeytrap, we gained knowledge about the typical setting that Social Realism films use.
For example, the shot of the London bus driving past emphasized the big city and the conventional location of Brixton
- the fact that they used an area that actually is well known for crime and many other social issues highlights the reality
behind the film. From Kinza's research into The Chase and Bullet Boy, we learnt that the focus was on young adults of the black race which is stereotypical for presenting social issues but realistic towards society's expectations. With Mustafe's research into 4.3.2.1 and Get Rich or Die Tryin', we have learnt more about typical synopsis and different situations that conform to social issues such as drug abuse, violent attacks and gang crime. We also learnt about the common narratives of Social Realism films where someone would try to escape the life they've been put into and make a positive turn.
