THE EQUILIBRIUM
The protagonist we follow is called Mickey. He is a young adult at the age of 20 and he lives in Tottenham with his mother and little brother.
THE DISRUPTION
Its August 2011 and the riots have kicked off. Mickeys mother was making her way back from the corner shop when she gets caught up in a mob of people who rush past her. She gets knocked over and badly injured as a stamped forms. She is crushed badly and suffers serious head injuries that lead to the loss of her life.
RECOGNITION
Mickey and his little brother Aiden are now orphans. Aiden, being 16, gets taken into foster care but since Mickey is 20 and unemployed, he is left to fend for himself. With virtually no qualifications and very little left behind from his mothers will, he is left homeless.
ATTEMPTED RESOLUTION
His life crashes downhill fast and he turns to selling drugs to make a little money to keep him going but its not enough to get him back to a ‘normal’ life. He gets involved in gang culture and the drug world causing him to spiral out of control. One day he finds out that the gang he has now become recruited into was the same gang that killed his mother. Enraged he tries to stab the gang members but it back fires and Mickey ends up on the run trying to escape the gang's desire for revenge. He is alone and realises life will never be the same for him again; all he can do now is survive.
NEW EQUILIBRIUM
Its been a year and Mickey is sitting on the pavement of his local high-street begging for money, when he sees a group of school boys walk past. He recognises one of the boys who turns out to be his brother. He seems happy. Mickey hesitates to call out to him in fear that he will disrupt the new life he has made for himself, so he watches with pain as he sees his little brother walk off into the distance.

Aiden becomes the goal that Mickey wants to reach; he wants to get his little brother back to him and out of the care system. This makes Aiden the 'princess' character type. He needs to be saved by the hero who is Mickey.

The riot gang are the villains as it is their fault that Mickey's mum has died. They are the reason for Mickey's problems and the circumstances he is facing. They can also be seen as the false heroes as they befriend Mickey later in the plot, unknowing that they killed his mother. When they find out, they turn against Mickey and try to hunt him down.

Social services in this case are with holding Aiden from Mickey. They tell him that he needs to have a stable job and place o live before he can even think of getting Aiden back. This shows they are the people who have the 'princess' and send Mickey on a quest to make his life better before he ca recieve his 'reward'

As we see flashbacks of Mickey's mum we see her tell her sons to look out for each other as they go to school. This shows that she always wanted her children to be together, so when they are split up, Mickey finds it his duty to look after his brother. This in some way means that Mickey's mum has put him on this quest to get his brother back.

Mickey is the character who's journey we follow during our film. We see him go from having a 'normal' family life to him being completely alone. He is on a quest to try and get back on track with his life
SYNOPSIS PLANNING
We proceeded to start adding details to the plot. As a team we also discussed what the name of our production would be. We discussed different names but ended up calling it "One". We came to this decision as the protagonist is now left alone hence the name "One". Once we had a basic idea of what we wanted to happen in the synopsis, we then went away to type up the synopsis and add the finer detail. We used what she had learnt from the research tasks and used Todorov's and Propp's theories to help her create our final synopsis where we decided to add elements from everyone's ideas into one.
