KAYLEIGH'S HOUSE
This is where Mickey's mum will be as she's making Aiden's sandwich. We decided that this layout would be good for filming as she can stand in the frame (in the kitchen, where she will be preparing the lunch) while Mickey is eating the cereal on the table directly behind her, as labeled in the photographs above. There is also a door (with windows) right next to where Mickey will be sat as well as a window next to where the Mum will be standing which puts them in a perfect position for the first shots of the house, from the garden. The open plan of the living room makes it a suitable filming environment for the pan shots of Mickey moving from his seat to the living room door, the hallway, and back.
BEAVERS ESTATE, UNDERPASS
We initially had three potential locations to use for filming the first part of the opening. We decided to film in the underpass at Beaver's Estate as it's local and would allow us to get our equipment there easily. This walls of the alleyway have a large amount of graffiti on the wall; it's quite dirty and gritty which is exactly what we want our opening to start with. The lighting inside the underpass is quite dim which gives a gloomy atmosphere but enough light for our filming to be clear. This location was one of the few we had chosen which wasn't cleaned regularly (so the graffiti is still intact) and was easily accessible for us.
