TWO GIRLS | Kinza David and Harsimran Sekhon
Kinza is sixteen years old and Harsimran is seventeen. They would be playing the roles of the two girls who appear drunk, as though they have recently left a party, and walk passed Mickey. The two girls are aged seventeen years old which makes Kinza and Harsimran age-appropriate for this role. We also decided that they were suitable for the role as they're both fairly light in skin tone which conforms to the stereotype of white girls who come from a council estate.

CASTING
MUM | Tatiana Baiden

Tatiana is sixteen years old and comes from an African background. Although she is quite young to play the part of a mother of two, we have decided that we will interpret makeup into her costume to give the look of a woman much older. As the family - Mickey, Aiden and their mum - are of an African ethnicity, Tatyana's skin colour perfectly suits the role.
MICKEY | Mustafe Qaaje

Mustafe is eighteen which means his age is near enough to Mickey's for him to look the part. Mustafe is a reliable person, being part of our team, to take on the role of Mickey - the main protagonist. We have concluded that his participation within the filming process will not be affected, as he can film parts of the opening that do not include Mickey. His skin colour suits Mickey's role who's of an African descent which also demonstrates that Mustafe is a suitable actor.
AIDEN | Waleed Ali

Waleed is fifteen years old and also comes from an african background. We thought that Waleed would be a good fit for this character as he attends high school, which means he can relate to his characters 'average morning' which is what we see within our opening and because he was able to supply us with his school uniform while filming our film opening.
BUSINESS MAN | Aadil Awan

Aadil dresses in smart clothing on a regular basis and appears to be someone who could play the role of a professional business man. The fact that he's asian adds more diversity to the ethnicity of our characters, showing that the film is based in a multi-ethnic area. Aadil could be seen as someone who is much older, therefore enabling him to play the part without being thought of as a teenage boy by our audience. Aadil was also able to supply us with his costume and his satchel.
GROUP OF FRIENDS | Charnice Gill, Divan Odedra, Jamal Saleem

The group of friends are going to be played by Charnice, Divan and Jamal. They are going to act as a group of friends who walk past Mickey. This emphasises that there are people walking around who can see what Mickey's doing, so as he exchanges the drugs for money, it appears dodgy because he's trying to go unnoticed. These friends are teenagers who are just going out, wearing casual clothing and can be considered 'extras'.
