PRE-RECORDED SOUNDS
HOUSE SCENE - RADIO
THE SONG WE WERE GOING TO USE...
We decided that we would prerecord our own radio to embed into our production (in the editing process) to ensure our content was original. We also wanted to make sure that it flowed and was continuous which would be a lot more difficult if we recorded the radio within our footage. We then found that Kayleigh could sing the song that would be played on the radio and we could edit it to make it sound as though it was coming from an internal source. We chose the song 'Turning Tables' by Adele, as it was released during the same time period (2011) and we thought it could resemble our storyline, The tables are essentially turned for Mickey when he goes from being a part of a happy family to someone who's alone and homeless.
We later decided to change the song to match the location. We had to re-film the house scene due to obvious issues with framing. Due to the house we planned our filming around having Christmas decorations up at the time we had schedule to re-film, we changed our plans for our film opening to have the house scene set at Christmas time. This worked well for us as it gave the house an even more homely feel and showed that the family were happy and celebrating the holidays, In order to work with the mise-en-scene, we changed the radio song to 'Merry Christmas Everyone' by Shakin' Stevens. Kayleigh then re-recorded this song and edited it to make it sound like a radio, once again. This song was also released before December 2010, the last Christmas before the riots, where as Turning Tables was not, making it unable for us to use it.
THE SONG WE WILL USE...
(FOLEY) SOUND
Kayleigh used this page for the group to upload any sounds that we have recorded which will later be put into the
film during the editing process. The pre-recorded (foley) sounds have been recorded and placed below with the person(s)
who recorded it in grey. We also constructed the radio sound that will be used as external diegetic sound within the house part of the film opening.
