From watching this discussion I learnt that Boyle was inspired to make this movie was because of the book Trainspotting. We see that the director and the character all talk about their reasons of the drug abuse and how it affected the characters lives. The characters talk about how the movie is some aspects may glamorise drugs. But overall show the negative long-term affects the drug has.
The genre of Trainspotting is comedy, drama. Another movie that has a similar genre is 127 hours. Which shows a man who gets trapped under a rock for 127 hours. He is stuck there thinking about his past and contemplating his whole life. He eventually hacks off his arm to be able to escape. Boyle uses his hyperactive style to show the characters frustration. It goes to show that our freedom is never really in our own hands. One other film that has a similar genre is Shallow Grave. It shows the greed of money. It shows how three close friends steal money off their new roommate who passes away. They don’t not know that their are people who are after their new roommate. They decide to hide the body and keep the money. The three of them end up facing difficult situations.
Dnnny Boyle was born in 1956 on the 20th of October in Lancahsire . Danny is well know for directing & screenwriting. He studies at the University Of Wales. He was born to the son of Irish immigrants
He’s directed Slum Dog Millionaire, Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, 127 hours and Steve Jobs.. He also directing the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games. He is currently directing Trainspotting 2. Danny Boyle has a unique and different directing style, some of his styles include bright colours and light in his directing. He has a fairly urban manic style to his directing. His editing and camerawork often considered nervous and speedy. The common settings he uses in his social realism films are a junkie's flat, which link back to the genre of social realism as it is a current and everyday issue. And mazes, these might be used to shows confusion and loss of direction of the protagonist live. His directing includes engaging sound tracks like heart thumping and fast and speedy sound tracks. This emphasis the scene and helps the audience
