UNEMPLOYMENT

•Our protagonist is a 35 year old Polish man called Stefan. He had been working for a retail company  that were based in the UK but  after the EU referendum, the company's finances declined meaning they had cut back on its employees. This meant that  some workers were made redundant and thanks to his boss’s  racist subconscious, Stefan was one of them. Unemployment effect Stefan badly as his wife doesn’t work and without any kids they can’t claim any aid from the government. The money begins to create fights between Stefan and his wife  as he tries to find another job but struggles as the post-referendum recession kicks in. Eventually Stefan has no choice but to leave London with the money he has as he  begins to fall back on rent. He goes back to Poland without telling his landlord in hopes he isn’t charged and tries to begin a new life.
