GANGS
The protagonist is a mixed race, 15 year old boy, named Callum. He isn't doing that well in school and is struggling across the board to keep his grades up. As his academic status decreases, his desire to wonder away from education increases. He begins to take more interest in his social life and begins to behave badly in an attempt to draw some attention to himself. unfortunately, he ends up grabbing the attention of a group of older boys: the local gang. He gets wrapped up in awe as he decides that we wants to be part of this gang, people who he believes were in the same situation as him once. Feeling that he doesn't fit in anywhere, he runs away from home and goes to live in the gang house that the boys are squatters in. Over a few months he transforms into a different person: he becomes more confident, he is happier without having to attend school and his growing kleptomania means he can get what he wants, whenever he wants it. However one day the gang get themselves engaged in a violent dispute with the neighboring gang. Things spiral out of control and soon the gang engage in a fight. Unknowingly, the other gang have brought a knife to the fight which tragically ends up in Callum being badly stabbed as he tries to protect another gang member. The rival gang run as they realise the wound was fatal. Callum bleeds out as his own gang desert him as they hear police sirens. Callum dies n the cold pavement. Its only after a few days that Callum's family find out that he had died. After months of searching for him, they they are distraught and Callums mother begins a campaign to fight against gang culture and knife crime.
