DOMESTIC ABUSE
Priya is a 25 year old Indian woman. She is still young and finds herself liking a young man she meets at a party. As they grow closer and closer, the decide that they want to move in together. As time goes on, Priya finds that Jamal tends to get angry very quickly and raises his voice often, making her wary of how she acts around him, but she loves him so she ignores this behavior and puts it down to stress. After a few months, she finds out that she is pregnant with Jamal's baby. 9 months pass and everyday she gets bigger and bigger as Jamal begins to become more and more anxious. His anger issues seem to be getting worse. One week to go before Priya is due, and she is at home watching TV. Jamal is out and as it gets later and later, Priya begins to worry about him. At 3am Jamal barges through the door, drunk and agitated. Priya confronts him about his whereabouts sparking his anger and causing him to push her. Priya looses her footing and falls down the stairs, hitting her head multiple times and rendering her unconscious. Jamal enters a panic and calls an ambulance to the property without leaving a name; he then runs out the door to save himself from the consequences of what he has done. A week later we see Priya laying in a hospital bed. She is badly bruised and, sadly, no longer pregnant.
